Social Media Coordinator (Student/Volunteer Role)
Job Description:
Hemophilia Ontario is a non-for-profit patient advocacy organization committed to improving the health and quality of life for all people with inherited bleeding disorders, and to find a cure.
The team is currently offering a role for one student as a Social Media Coordinator. The volunteer position will be a 8 month tenure offering a $1,000 honorarium for an estimated 5 hours of work a week. The role offers students with leadership experience through working with a non-for-profit committed to the health and interests of the bleeding disorders community. The work will be composed of:
– Researching and composing 1-3 stories a week related to bleeding disorders for the organization
– Assisting with social media posts
– Reposting scheduled social media content on LinkedIn
– Engaging with the Hemophilia Ontario staff to develop advocacy pieces for public posting
This role will directly report to the Manager of Camp Programs & Communications and indirectly to the Executive Director.
Requirements:
– Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or College student
– Preference will be given to students with prior experience of engagement with the bleeding disorders community and/or passionate on the advocacy of the treatment or management of bleeding disorders
– Preference will be given to students intending to pursue a career in communication, social media, and the health sciences
– Preference will be given to students with experience in social media coordination
