Stephen (Steve) Perry has been a dedicated member of the Hemophilia Ontario community for more than twenty years, bringing lived experience, unwavering commitment, and a genuine warmth that has made him a cornerstone of the organization.
Steve lives with Von Willebrand Disease and is the father of two sons who also share the diagnosis. That shared experience has only deepened his passion for ensuring that individuals and families affected by VWD and all bleeding disorders have access to the support, resources, and community they deserve. Steve is a tireless advocate who believes strongly that no one should have to navigate a bleeding disorder diagnosis alone.
Perhaps Steve’s greatest gift to Hemophilia Ontario is his instinct for inclusion. He has long been recognized for going out of his way to seek out new families and make them feel genuinely welcomed, a quality that has helped countless people find their footing within the community during what can be an overwhelming time.
Among Hemophilia Ontario’s many programs and events, Steve has always held a special place in his heart for Just the Dads. This event reflects his belief in the importance of peer connection and the unique role fathers play in supporting their children through life with a bleeding disorder.
Steve’s two decades of involvement, personal experience, and commitment to advocacy make him an invaluable voice on the Board of Directors.
