Hemophilia Ontario is pleased to announce our 2026 Shawn Duford Golf Classic, which will be held on Saturday June 13th at The Meadows Golf & Country Club, 4335 Hawthorne Road, Ottawa, Ontario, K1G 3N4. Registration for the tournament is $155 and this includes 18 holes of golf in a scramble format, golf cart rental, the use of driving range and practice facilities, dinner and lots of great prizes! The proceeds from the tournament support many programs for both children and adults with bleeding disorders including:
- Wanakita Summer Camp – Children enjoy regular camp activities and with the help of hemophilia clinic nurses they learn to self-infuse their missing clotting
- Client Assistance Fund -Provides monetary assistance for medical and orthopedic devices, and for emergency travel to medical appointments
- Educational events -members learn the latest in treatment advances and support each other
This tournament honour’s Shawn’s lifelong goal of ensuring individuals affected by inherited bleeding disorders would always find support close to home. Shawn was committed to ‘grassroots’ or local leadership in the Ottawa and eastern Ontario region of Ontario.
