Happy World Hemophilia Day!

Since 1989, the 17th of April has been celebrated as World Hemophilia Day, also honouring the birth anniversary of Frank Schnabel, the founder of the World Federation of Hemophilia!

Let April 17th be a reminder to continue to celebrate every individual with a bleeding disorder and the strength they possess. By raising awareness about hemophilia globally and advocating for treatment and sustainable care, we can all #breakthestigma attached to having a bleeding disorder and fight for more effective and accessible treatment.

The theme for this year’s WHD is: ‘Access for All: Partnership. Policy. Progress. Engaging your government, integrating inherited bleeding disorders into national policy.’

“By raising awareness and bringing hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders to the attention of policymakers, we can increase sustainable and equitable access to care and treatment.” – World Federation of Hemophilia, 2022
