AVENTIS BEHRING CANADA & HEMOPHILIA ONTARIO CREATE UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

Aventis Behring Canada, in partnership with Hemophilia Ontario, is pleased to announce the creation of the Aventis Behring/Hemophilia Ontario University Scholarship. This program offers those individuals suffering from bleeding disorders the chance to pursue their goals of academic excellence by awarding full tuition costs to any Canadian university for one year.

Submission of applications is being accepted until May 1st , 2001 and the recipient of this year’s award will be announced on July 1st,2001. With this program, Aventis Behring Canada becomes the first manufacturer in the country to offer tuition reimbursement of any kind to the patient community. An independent Scholarship Advisory Board consisting of one hemophilia clinic director, one hemophilia nurse coordinator and one member of the Board of Directors of Hemophilia Ontario will review the applications and make the final decision.

Along with the Aventis Behring Hematology Residency Award, educational symposiums for the treatment community, the Aventis Behring Canada Research Fund and the Aventis Behring /CHS/AHCDC Fellowship in Hemophilia this award further solidifies Aventis Behring Canada’s position as the leader in the support of programs designed to further learning for both the patient and treatment community.

Hemophilia Ontario, with offices in Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, London, and Sudbury is committed to improving the quality of life of people affected by hemophilia and related bleeding disorders and to work for a cure. They are engaged in direct service, public education, and research.
